    OK

Never entered a competitive cycle event before and this is a bit of last minute thing

Commuted 20 miles a day for 4 days this past week. Usually I only ride 2-3 days a week

    7 days till the event

1 day off work (tomorrow) otherwise working Tues-Sat

I'm not expecting more than mid-back of pack but still … it is a competitive event

Top tips please. I know there was an article in the mag not too long ago but I've since misplaced it.

One week to go? Pretty sure you should be tapering, so nice easy ride and drive to work 🙂

No, go off tomorrow and ride really really hard, without eating before or during. Die a horrible death, then crawl home, and recover. That's how you peak.

    That's telling 😉

    Something small, local

Though the event itself won't involve riding further than my return commute run is

Normally you'd rest up. A wee spin the day before is good with a few sprints
