    Any body actually have experience of putting a 29 inch fork and front wheel on a 26 inch mtb

    Don’t do it.
    Run a big wheel in a 26in fork, by all means, but not a 29in fork and wheel in a 26in bike.

    have done it to an old (2003)hummer using a rigid carbon 26″ fork and it works for me a a lightweight ss.

    I banged a 29er wheel in the front end of my Genesis io (rigid fork adjusted for 80mm travel fork) slackens the HA by a degree ish but works well for me and my style.

    Works well on a short (~445mm) rigid fork for some frames with relatively steep head angles, if you want a suspension fork forgetaboutit.
