Are there any good prices out for any 650b (27.5) downhill casing tyres at the minute?

Not got any preferences on the manufacturer as long as they are DH casings

    Cheers

they would be my last choice but id take them if they were cheap – not really after tyre recommendations just if anyone had found any at good prices as they all seem to be about £50 a tyre

The usual German and French sites would be my first port of call for cheaper top end tyres.

Even in the never ending CRC sale I noticed last night a pair of dual ply 650b Hans Dampfs would be best part of £100.

Magic Mary. Great tyre with good casing in snakeskin version, good grip in Trailstar version too (good enough for use as a front anyway) and CRC were doing them for £25 a week ago instead of the usual £40+

They do a true DH casing in Vertstar compound but it’s heavy and even more tacky (too me) than Maxxis 40/42a super tacky compound….whether this is actually true or not I couldn’t tell you but to me the DH Vertststar Mary felt like overkill.
