  • 42t chainring – 46 – can I use the same chain?

    i have a 42t chainring on my cx bike – got a new chainset 46t – will the same chain work or be too small? at a guess?

    Prob too small, I went from a 46 to a 50 and needed a new chain.

    i think it works out that 4 extra teeth = 2/3 links..

    If spending on a new ring, get a new chain irrelevant of whether it’s long enough.
