29er Orange Five

Looks interesting though, I want a go. Seems like an ST4-type tubed design would make more sense tbh but I guess this plays more to the Orange brand (always suspected they'd have sold more Bloods and ST4s if they had skips for swingarms)

but a Five's a Five because it's got Five.

wouldn't be a Four or a Five it'd be a threepointnine

A Five has 5.5 inches!
This would be a Threepointninethree

OMG 29ER RUBBER QUEENS. Almost enough to make me want to try clown wheels.
Posted 8 months ago # -
should we just call it the 'Dave'?
Posted 8 months ago # -
the Orange Band Waggon-wheeler?
Posted 8 months ago # -
Oh I say, Ding Dong. I'll be havin one of those
Posted 8 months ago # -
is this actually any different from a regular 5 with a slightly shorter stroke shock (same eye-to-eye) installed?
Posted 8 months ago # -
if you look closely it's not a Five it's a strange....
Great combination, emphatic FIVE owners now thrown into same pool as evangelical 29er owners, can't wait to hear the banter going on (through adenoids) at the post ride pub meet........

I think this wins most interesting bake at the show for me.
Posted 8 months ago # -
maybe but the most interesting bike, I doubt it. its just big wheels on a century old design, there were loads of those at the show

A Five front with a longer swingarm and big forks loads of R&D went into that i suspect

But that’s the point for me it’s simple and works. How much do you think the Yeti SB-95 and IBIS Ripley are going cost? And the word complicated doesn’t do it justice.
The Ragley Big Ten Four looked ok too but it’s just a bit more of an unknown and tire clearance didn’t look massive from what I could see in the video.

yeah, like the 5 isn't already expensive.

Want. Just want.

For what it is yes the 5 is expensive but it's in the same price range as almost all 29er full suspension bikes. It will be interesting to see the price difference between the Ragaley and the Orange when they come out.

Nice one, about time. 5 is the best susser I've tried in recent years but would never buy one as the wheels are too wee.
Now I might....if I can find the dough.Posted 8 months ago # -
so other bikes are more expensive than a similar priced bike?
nice reasoning.
going by other Ragley prices I suspect it'll be fairly cheap
Posted 8 months ago # -
For what it is yes the 5 is expensive
Because it doesn't have 50 pivots?
Show me another bike with a handmade frame for the same money.

Nah, sorry that just looks plain wrong. It probably rides great and as they say you can't see it when you're riding it, but it looks cack*
*cack being a technical term

Whenever there is a Five thread there are always people banging on about how expensive they are. Look if you can't afford it get a better job or make more informed financial decisions or something then it wouldn't worry you so much

How much is that in GBP Ian?
Posted 8 months ago # -
£1175

No, it was called 5 (or originally Sub-5) because of the frame weight without a shock.
