I'm 5'7" if I stretch so is there a point in building a 29er or should I stick to 69ers which are perverse but I kinda like them?
    Ok, why not?
And why would a 16" inbred 29er be wrong?

    no no no

    your too short sorry 😯

other than it just looking plain wrong
the 'slow spin up' which I personnaly don't notice (6'2") will be a lot more noticable for you
also the small 29ers get odd geometry and all sorts of toe over lap issues

    wouldn't personally recommend a 29er for anybody under 6'

    I'm 5'8 and ride a 29er. No problem with the size personally. I've raced 69ers and 29ers

Currently waiting for my new Niner frame to arrive. I don't see the whole "you've got to be 10ft tall to benefit" argument.

The wheels are still 29ers even if your on a small frame….

I suppose the real question is – will riding a 16" Inbred 29er be wrong? I dislike hybrids so it's a potential worry. I'm happy with a 69er made of bits I had but need, ehem, really need a new frame. Should I go for a 16" Inbred in 26 or 29 inch disguise? No other frame will be such a low cost and I really like On-One frames.

    5'7" isn't short. I'm 5'3" and ride a 29er and love it!

    Don't worry I'm here 🙄

5'8" and owned 2 x 29ers so far, another on order and another in the planning stage for next year.

I've now sold all but my much loved small wheeled Inbred, 29ers are ace buy one and sell the crappy small wheeled bikes you own. 😉

JC, what size Inbred would you buy? Or do you know another make that's cheap and cheerful?

i never understood the logic in 29's not being suitable for shorter people, surely plenty of shorter people successfully ride road bikes and cx bikes without these issues? or am i missing something with the way 29r frames are built?

My concern is the standover height, I can't find any info on 29er Inbred. Besides, isn't it just fat-tyred hybrid?

You miss understand, my Inbred is my only 26er left.

As for sizes of 29ers with my 31" inside leg.
I had a Gary Fisher Rig small but with a layback seat post
I have a small of the two sized Jones
I've ordered a Meduim Gary Fisher Rumblefish

So you need to sit on them to find out.

No way, my 26er is great for a small wheeled mountain bike.

    I'm not saying a word!

How do you find the big wheel on technical tight singltrack?

I'd quite like a 29er, but that photo looks so wrong for so many different reasons – I'm not doubting it's great to ride from reviews I've seen though.
