A mate who works for Scottish Cycling has asked me to post this about the Commonwealth Games XC course. (mods – hope this doesn't count as advertising – pull it if neccessary, but he's going to be in touch with you anyway).

This Sunday (9th Aug) will see the first event at the venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games MTB race. Cathkin Braes on the south side of Glasgow is a fantastic location with some great riding and amazing views across the city.

The team at SXC have done a fantastic job to create a course that is challenging and fun to race, with steep testing descents including the 4x style ‘Ski Slope’, lung busting climbs, and fast flowing singletrack, so why not come and give it a go, and be one of the first to race on the 2014 games course.
