    Is it safe to drillout a 17 mm mtb rim to accept a shrader valve

    and do i need to have my frame and forks faced to a fit shimano slx brakes

    yes – done it loads of times slow speed rim is alloy so it will be easy

    i dont like presta valves just bought new wheels plus all my tubes are shrader

    Presta valves don’t disappear into the rim when you try to attach the pump – an annoying trait when it’s cold, wet, dark, you’re in the forest and there are eyes glinting at you through the trees.

    Also, I’ve never seen tubeless setups with Schrader valves, so that make Presta even more attractive.

    yes you can drill your rims

    mavic ones already have a plastic collar though which is nice

    and presta is just for ex-roadies

    they even come threaded for belugabob
