Trying to address toe overlap & thinking about trying shorter cranks. I’m 5′ 11″, so should probably be using 170mm cranks but got a deal on some 175s which are fine. Will 165 be impossible or OK?

Second question: Running road cranks with 135mm hub is giving a few chainline issues, so I fancy trying mtb cranks instead. With STIs, will a road front mech work? Will a mtb one work?

i run sti’s with an XT front mech and XT triple chainset works but only just – set up is trickier and shifting isn’t always perfect first go – which i know some people would hate – part of the compromise really for me – can spin steep hills but spins out on fast road sections like having drops more for headwinds than speed

think someone posted on crank lengths last week and said they’d got different lengths on different bike and wouldn’t know which is which – i’m the same
