I broke a chain on the road bike for the first ever time today. I suspect it was the special joining link and want to use a power / quick link instead. I have some 10sp ones for the mountain bike in the parts box – will they work with 11sp Shimano Ultegra?

I’ve used a 9 speed link on a 10 speed chain as a temp to finish a ride, was a bit jumpy at times though.
I’d say only use it to get you home.

Yeah I’ve used 9sp or 10sp on the MTB as a get me home but forgot to chains and it’s been on there for over 2 years now with no issues. Just wondered if 10sp-11sp was any different. Don’t want want it failing when 50 miles from home.
