I’ve a Surly Troll (26″) and thinking of getting some suspension forks for some off road fun. Believe the frame is set up for 100mm which seems to be the minimum travel these days. Got an old set of 80mm RS Duke C but not sure if these can be modded for 100mm travel.

I’m well out of date with current trends but can anyone recommend a set of 100mm forks that take old style skewers? Don’t want to spend a lot as occasional use only. Can you still get spring/oil or is everything air these days? Finally having lockout would be another bonus.

I’ve found some Rockshox XC28’s on ebay but that on paper fit the bill but not sure whether up to the job for a 15 stone rider.
