  • 1 x 10 front chainring?

I’m just getting some bits together for a 1 x 10 setup, but i’m drawing a blank on 10sp compatible front rings.

Can anyone advise on which to use or will a 9sp do?

It’s for a commuter, so ideally a 36T would be best.

A 9 speed will work perfectly fine, its more about the spacing between the rings on your cassette to fit on the free hub. So don’t worry about it and use your existing cranks and save money!

    I’m soon changing to 34T front x 9sp rear.

Me too. I presume a single speed front ring and chian device required?

I use a 35T e13 g-ring and a superstar components XCR Single Ring Chainguide – but as said above and 9 spd ring will work – but you dont need the ramps

I use a Salsa one – works really well and they do lots of different sizes. The Renthal ones are also lovely.

The MRP ones are rubbish – so wide they catch the chain and cause chainsuck.
