For example I remember the Blackbird appearing at air shows in the late 70's or maybe early 80's, by which time it was getting near the end of its operational life, and in fact the stealth bombers and what not where already about, albeit we weren't going to find about them for some time. Obviously with top secret aircraft the whole aircraft needs to be destroyed. Seems they didn't get to the tail as it was on the other side of the wall! </p> <p>Some people are claiming it is not a modified blackhawk as there seems to be a lack of metal and it looks all composite but any aluminium would be destroyed by the high temps of thermite (if used) leaving chunks of the outer composite (what they would use to modify an aircraft) would still be detectable along with charred carbon fibres.
