by 6

Your once a week dose of retail therapy from Singletrack’s Premier Dealers, stockists and advertisers.

Tuesday Treats gives you a quality serving of independent bike retailing and a chance to win big in this week’s prize draw.

This week, we check out Animal.

Tuesday Treats this week surfs around the mindset of summer with one eye on the weather to come. We hand our feature over to Animal to eke out every last drop of August’s promise…

Animal was launched back in 1987 and has grown into a UK action sports lifestyle brand, boasting an extensive team of riders in each of its core sports.

Our ‘rider-refined’ program means all products get tried, tested and tweaked by the Animal pro team for real rider performance. Animal’s range has now grown to include action sports inspired clothing, watches, wetsuits, technical outerwear, eyewear, footwear, luggage and accessories. We’re active over on Twitter and Facebook so stay in touch.

With riders such as dirt jumper Blake Samson on the Animal team and currently touring as part of their national Action Sports Tour, what more of a reason do you need to check out the threads of the pros?

Check out the full Animal range here (with some Summer Sale stock still available). For you ‘try before you buy types’ here are the Animal Stockists

I’ve got an Animal T shirt from 1993. It’s a wee bit tatty.

My in-laws are going through a phase of buying me Animal T-shirts every Christmas and birthday, which has lasted about 15 to 20 years. They’re indestructible.

Much the same here Mike, only its my sister in law who alternates between Animal & Weird Fish!

I’ve still got an Animal watch strap from the late eighties. It gets used regularly to hold the brake levers in on my Avid brakes when they go all mushy.

Think I won it at the Surftracks MTB races in Blandford!

I loved my glo-face AM001 watch, until the glow bit of it started to deteriorate and they were recalled.

Unfortunately the replacement wasn’t as hard wearing and Animal said they didn’t carry spares for it anymore, 2 years after I got it.

I’d forgotten I have one of those watches, too. Hard as nails, but it ate batteries and i got bored of replacing them. It’s in a drawer now.

My brother had one too. He was wearing it when he was knocked off his motorbike and slide rather a long way along the floor. The metal bezel was ground down quite badly but, amazingly, the glass face was completely unmarked.
