Less than one week… for one free weekend

Next saturday sees possibly the only free weekend of singlespeed mountain biking this year.  “Nothing is for free!” you shout.  Oh yes there is – one Free weekend, Birch Hall Golf Club, Unstone in Derbyshire, Saturday 31st July.

Singlespeed joy on a nice singletrack filled course awaits.  Its not a race, more a gathering.  Starting at 3pm and going on until you’ve had enough.  Beer, food, band, riding, good company and the opportunity to race a full blown race on Sunday morning at a round of the Mids XC.

Join us, make it work and enjoy some time with your mates on a course that can’t normally be ridden.

Singletrackworld's ex-Editor At Large

With 25 years as Editor of Singletrack World Magazine, Chipps holds the record for the longest-running mountain bike magazine editor in the world. He started in the bike trade in 1990 and became a full time mountain bike journalist at the start of 1994. Chipps stepped down as Editor in April 2026 after 25 years at the helm. He's now wondering what to do next, while riding his bike in the French Pyrenees, where he also runs some gites.
