The Superbowl of mountain biking, aka Redbull Rampage 2016, will begin in just a few short hours but our excitement has already boiled over and we’ve been trawling Facegram and Instabook to get the latest news ahead of time.
This year’s Redbull Rampage course has been created on an all new mountain meaning dig crews and riders have had to arrive early to scope out the raddest lines, build sick kickers, and generally create mind-blowingly dangerous obstacles to fall off in a controlled manner!
Riders who have arrived early at the event include Brendon Fariclough who has been working on a new canyon gap. He and his crew finished digging yesterday leaving Brendog just a short time to practice in the moonlight! As you’ll see below things didn’t quite go according to plan!
Graham Agassiz is looking really confident for this evening and spent most of yesterday perfecting his lines from top to bottom.
French rider Antoine Bizet plans to style it up each and every time his wheels leave the ground! Here’s a short POV video of the Frenchman in action!
Carson Torch shows us that Rampage isn’t just about all out bravery. Just watch his skill as he calmly pops down this steep drop!
The rider who everyone is watching this year though is Tyler McCaul. The GT sponsored rider and brother of Cam McCaul, has high hopes this year. In the past, he’s had some promising results and with the help of freeride legend Darren Berrecloth has built this beast for Rampage 2016!
That is just a small taste of the carnage to expect at 5:30pm this evening, but if you do get bored of some of the best riders in the business throwing it down, you can always watch out for these on the desert floor!
