Director, Neill picks up the story; ‘Edinburgh Cycle Company was founded nine years ago by my father as an out and out electric bike shop. Three years ago, I took the over the helm and we’ve swung the focus of the business firmly towards mountain bikes’.
We have a fully equipped workshop staffed by the dependable Geordie here (and his hobbit)…
Our services range from a simple brake bleed at £15 to a full Enduro Service (fork serviced, rear shock serviced, brakes bled, wheels trued, gears set, pivots greased) for £120.
We don’t really focus on internet sales as we can’t really compete with the big companies already filling that arena. What we do do though is great advice and customer service in person. Oh and good tea (if you bring the biscuits!)
Tell us about your custom services and what about demo bikes?
We’re an authorised Giant Maestro dealer as well as now being the only Ibis dealer in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We have a comprehensive demo fleet of mountain bikes available to book a test ride on too. The following custom build speaks volumes about us creating the right bike for the right job. This Nukeproof was built especially for the Megavalanche (Hope hubs, brakes and a full Saint groupset).

Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…
We’re just about to launch a new website in the next few weeks to reflect the changing nature of our business; you’ll be able to follow our blog, buy a bike on low APR finance terms, using Giant’s excellent Click and Collect service and look at all the services we have on offer. It’s all focussed around us endeavouring to become Edinburgh’s specialist mountain bike shop.
