If talk of the Third Way of wheel sizes has got your interest piqued and you’d like to know if getting in the middle is the future, then here’s your chance to win a complete 650B wheeled 2013 Saracen Zen hardtail.
Saracen distributor Madison has hooked up Britain’s largest cycling exhibition, the 2013 Cycle Show at the NEC to offer one lucky Singletrack reader the chance to win the latest incarnation of their Zen long travel hardcore hardtail.
Combining a tough but light custom butted 6061 aluminium frame with 130mm X-Fusion Velvet RL fork, 10spd Shimano drivetrain and a KS dropper post, the Zen uses 650B wheels to offer a mix of the rolling ability of 29″ wheels with the flickable and lively feel of 26″ bike.
The Cycle Show is going to be held on the 28th to 30th September at the NEC Birmingham, with a Trade Only day on the 27th. With exhibitors ranging from giants such as Specialized and Trek to smaller brands such as Brooks and Pashley. There’s also going to be a test track for you to try all the latest bikes on, loads of competitions going on, even more famous riders and general cycling celebs and whole load of exciting bike-based stuff for all the family.

“650 – what? Another standard? Actually not quite. 650B sits slap bang in the middle of 26” and 29” wheels and has been around for some time. Current thinking is the 650B wheel is perfect for mid to long-travel suspension bikes. We evolved this thinking into our award-winning Zen trail hardtail bike. Ride feel is very similar to a 26” wheel bike but rolls over small bumps like a 29er. Perhaps the best of both worlds – playful and flick-able, fast rolling and smooth. We certainly think it’s something you should try before you make your minds up based on armchair research. We give you the future of long travel. The Saracen Zen: ready to redefine a category it already wrote.
