Tuesday Treats 5: Cycle Geezer

This week in Tuesday Treats we’re giving you something a little bit different. Cycle Geezer is a fresh new company launched from a concept based on upcycling bicycle parts. Its main focus is all about providing ethically constructed gift solutions. The Yorkshire-based bike fanatics are already creating a stir with a one-stop-shop of creatively recycled and reused bike parts.

Tuesday Treats wouldn’t be complete without serving up a quality competition. Up for grabs this week in the regular prize draw are a Cycle Geezer Desk Pendulum Clock and a Bike Chain Bowl, making the prize pot worth over £100. Don’t forget that even if you don’t win a prize then you’re still a winner by subscribing, because your Premier Member’s Card entitles you to all sorts of discounts and other good things at any of our Premier Dealers. There’s a special time-limited offer for our loyal subscribers from Cycle Geezer, too. Read on to find out more…

This week, we introduce Cycle Geezer:

What do Singletrack Subscribers get from Cycle Geezer?

Until Sunday 30 September, Singletrack subscribers can benefit from 10% off all online purchases with Cycle Geezer by entering the code displayed below, when ordering! (Can’t see the code? Then you’re either not logged in, or not a subscriber. Log in or subscribe to see the code!)

Give us an introduction to your company – who owns/manages it, when was it set up, how many staff, where are you located?

Cycle Geezer’s Joe and Karen work out of the glorious Yorshire Dales and are a husband and wife team, both mad on cycling. Karen is a bit of a roadie and I (Joe), am a qualified MTB Trail Leader.  We have a ‘mini cyclegeezer’ in 7 year old Anna (who recently met her hero Brad Wiggins) and who is following in my tyre tracks, hitting the hills whenever possible.

The inspiration for the business came from an upcycled Christmas present I received. This is where we realised there was a gap in the rapidly growing cycling market for bespoke, quirky gifts for cycling enthusiasts and the concept was born and developed over a few cocktails on holiday! An ethically-based business is important to us, so gifts produced from recycled bike parts fit our model perfectly.

What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?

Our best selling gift is the Bike Chain Bowl, which looks fantastic on any coffee table. Our bike-bling spoke chain bangles are particularly loved by the ladies too.

Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…

Something no one else knows is that I’m secretly planning a new bike purchase – Karen will hit the roof! But it’ll be worth it (I think). I’m stuck a bit in my mind between a Lapierre X-Flow 412 or Giant Trance X4. I’m currently riding a Kona 120 Deluxe, so any pointers appreciated.  Come over to our Facebook or Twitter to talk to us!

Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readership should know about?

We are very excited to announce that our range of products are set to increase, with a range of upcycled furniture and home accessories currently being prototyped.

We are exhibiting at the Cycle Show at the NEC next month to raise Cycle Geezer’s profile even further. It will be great to get out and meet the cycling public. We hope a fair few Singletrack readers will come and get their hands on our product!

Premier Subscribers can enter our CYCLE GEEZER prize draw. This week’s prize:

We have one Cycle Geezer Bike Chain Bowl, and one Desk Pendulum Clock, each worth £55 to give away.
