Holy calendar check! It’s already week three of our Singletrack Premier Dealer slot, Tuesday Treats. Each week, one of our Premier Dealers gives you the lowdown about their operation and a little look behind the scenes. This week we’re going to whet your travel appetite with a look at one of our more exotic Premier Dealers, holiday company Mountain Bike Kerala.
If you’re a subscriber, you then get to enter a draw to win the prize – this week it’s a holiday discount worth a substantial £250. Sounds good eh? Don’t forget that even if you don’t win this competition, you’re still a winner by subscribing, because our Premier Member’s Card entitles you to all sorts of discounts and other good things at any of our Premier Dealers.
This week, we introduce MOUNTAIN BIKE KERALA
“Mountain Bike Kerala. Your dream MTB trip awaits, all born out of 10 years of cycling experience in India with three years devoted to trail finding in the mountainous Iddukki district of Kerala.
What do Singletrack Subscribers get from MOUNTAIN BIKE KERALA?
A standard 10% off all trips for Premier Subscribers and for a limited time, an additional 5% off all trips if you can spot the phrase “Bullies Special Prize” on MTB Kerala’s website! Email email@example.com the page of their site (where you found it) and they will discount a further 5% off any 2012/2013 trip, booked by 30 September 2012.
Give us an introduction to your company – who owns/manages it, when was it set up, how many staff, where are you located?
Lancashire born Mike McLean heads up an (Olympic-worthy) international team of riders from Australia, Nepal, India and the U.K, who have been pioneering trails through India and Nepal since 2005. Their mission is to promote riding throughout the region and showcase what are some of the most stunning trails on earth.
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
We cater for a wide ranging audience and needs. All our tours are hot, hot hot. They are extremely well planned and delivered. We have been told our winter Kerala tours bring more sunshine than Morecambe and Wise! Just take a look at our updated pics and videos from June:
Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?
All our feet are out and proud in their love for Mavic shoes. On our bikes, our front wheels cry out in anguish if we take off our Maxxis Minions.
Do you do any custom tours or trips?
We do all sorts of add-ons. We send people into tiger reserves (and most come back), pack them off to Yoga sessions and can arrange meditation retreats. We take people to the Taj Mahal (the worlds biggest monument to love, not a curry house!) We can even run Coast to Coast road based tours, for those that like some ‘dark side’ roadie action.
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…
Despite what all they say about me, they do actually like me. Honest! About our staff… well, to say the least we’re certainly a mixed bunch!
Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readership should know about?
Our Kerala Christmas Tour is just about the best place to be this coming December 25th. A Christmas day singletrack ride in tropical temperatures, followed by a tree house party. Put that in your tough turkey and smoke it!
