oneF Weekend Cancelled

The oneF crew write…

After much deliberation, debate and consternation, oneF weekend is unfortunately cancelled.  Insufficient numbers have led us to conclude that a severe financial loss was on the cards. However…………….

“One Free weekend is taking place!!  Starting Saturday lunchtime, you are welcome to turn up at Birchal Estate, ride your singlespeed around the course and then enjoy the bar and band in the evening. I guess a little bit how it used to be in the old days.

“Things to note: it’s not an organised event on the Saturday, so there aren’t marshals, first aiders and all the gubbins if you decide to do something silly. You can ride the course with a whole group of friends if that’s your thing at a pre-determined time. Details on the day.

“The Midlands cross country series is  still up and running for the Sunday and has a singlespeed category. The course is great, with some really nice singletrack sections, virtually no open riding and a great little technical section (on the website video).  This is the first time this landowner at Birchal Estate has opened up the woods to a mountain bike event.

So revised pricing is ………… £0.00 for camping, a bit of a party and some entertainment.

Any pre-entries will be refunded over the weekend.

Visit the website for more details.  All we ask is you email us to say you might turn up so we can order in enough beer.

I looked at entering this, but two things put me off.

    1. Is it legitimate? i.e. might I be giving money to fraudsters?
    2. Where was it going to take place? Info on their website was feeble.

I can wholeheartedly assure you that we are not fraudsters!!! Those that know us and ride with can vouch for that. We’ve sponsored freebies at SSUK and SSEC.

The location is a private estate and to respect the landowner (as a few people broke in and started riding around) we have kept the venue a little quite. Look up Birchall Golf course, its there.

As its free, hopefully that sorts out the fraudsters bit.

    they’re not fraudsters

(and if they were they’re going about it all wrong what with it being free…)

gutted, absolutely gutted. local event too! feel for you boys 🙁

There will still be some goings on, so turn up!
