Cyclocross photo annual seeks crowdfunding

If you follow high-level ‘cross even loosely, you will probably have seen Balint Hamvas’ photography, whether knowingly or not. His images seem to perfectly capture the atmosphere of racing, from the cut and thrust on course, to the hidden moments behind the tape. Originally from Hungary, Balint had no idea what ‘cross was about until 2008. He visited a World Cup race that autumn and it was love at first sight. Since then, he has photographed close to 200 world-class races.

Each season, over the last seven years, Balint has compiled his best images into a “Cyclocross Handbook” photo album. These have been crowdfunded via Kickstarter over the last two years, and the photographer is again looking to fund his 2017/18 season review in the same way.

Here’s his Kickstarter video for this year. The campaign closes on 11 Feb 2018, with books scheduled to be shipped in April, assuming the project gets fully funded. Check Kickstarter for more details.
