Ouseburn Valley Cross 2017

by 0

It’s now July, and that means it’s less than two months before ‘cross season starts. We’ve just received the first announcement of a cyclocross race in the UK and it looks to be a good one: the second running of Ouseburn Valley Cross, on the Summer Bank Holiday, Monday 28 August, in the heart of Newcastle.
The course will be a spectator-friendly urban style, taking racers along closed streets with plenty of interesting sections, such as the Ouseberg cobbled climb (approved by Magnus Backstedt), grass and gravel, a nice long set of steps, and a bit of wooded singletrack. Newbies can try out the course on a guided tour.
The day will feature lots of other fun things going on: Rollapaluza static bike racing, a skills course, food and craft stalls, and a pop-up café.
