Clif’cross Returns for a 4th Year of Fun!

It’s baaaaack! Clif’cross will return to the Calder Valley on the 27th of March. This old school cyclocross event promises riding along, “stunning roads, trails, cobbled sets and ancient pack horse tracks weaving their way around the Calder Valley.” You can choose from 27- or 43-mile loops, and each option promises plenty of climbing… 4600′ worth in the longer of the two loops.

To be clear, Clif’cross is not a race, but rather, “a proper test of endurance and a great experience riding through a wonderful landscape on some of the best trails in the country.” Participants are free to choose a cyclocross rig or mountain bike to tackle the course. Organizers say there will only be one section where bikes will need to be carried, but that’s not so bad, right?
In addition to the exciting course, even organizers have wisely added some other value-added bits for participants. For starters, there will be feed stations (with hot drinks) along the course, and there will be a Porkery Hog Roast (or vegetarian/vegan options) waiting for when you’re finished riding. Additionally, and this is cool, all participants will get their photo taken on-course by our dear friend Joolze Dymond (her photos have already graced the covers of at least three issues of grit.cx).

Clif’cross starts at 09:30 on the 27th of March at the Mytholmroyd Community Centre in Hebden Bridge.
You can pre-register over at British Cycling for £25, or cough up £30 on the day of the event.
