We finally got our hands on the new Santa Cruz Stigmata cyclocross bike! As you might recall…and/or have read…Santa Cruz, California-based mountain bike company had a Stigmata in its line-up back in 2007, but the model went away. Well…it’s back.
Interestingly, this orange carbon fiber race sled arrived sheathed within a neat sack…which was all inside a cardboard bike box.
I wasted no time unwrapping the Stigmata, and it was on the racecourse within 24 hours of unboxing. The bike performed well, despite its pilot putting on a poor display.
There will be lots to write about with this bike, and it will be raced often here in Belgium. Its bright color and graphics are turning lots of heads here. Stay tuned for a more detailed report on its first few rides!
