Let’s roll back the clock to about five years ago. This was a time before bicycle company marketing departments, and…ahem…bicycling media started to really define a cycling discipline where participants pilot drop-bar bikes atop unpaved roads…aside from cyclocross.
A group of people in Germany had been doing this sort of riding for a while, as have people all over the world. Back in 2010, Gerolf Meyer decided to document a four-stage ‘unconventional cyclocross’ race, which ran 126km from Dresden and Leipzig. (This is a German film with English subtitles.)
