JPow, as he is sometimes known, is an American cyclocross powerhouse. Thus, we figured it was time we learn more about him in the pages of grit.cx. We put Ted Burns on the case, and here’s a brief teaser of his piece for issue 005:
Jeremy Powers watched Tim Johnson take the top step of the podium. He was smiling and friendly when fans approached him, but it was forced. The tension around Powers was thick. Johnson had just won the third day of racing at Jingle Cross, a major three-day cyclocross event in Iowa City, Iowa. Powers had won the previous day’s race, a valuable UCI C1 event, which offers a better payout, and more UCI points, than the C2 race he had just lost. This was not the happy go lucky Jeremy Powers from the Behind the Barriers videos. This was somebody else.
