hi all,

am fitting the above chainset to a mates bike ( a flux ) with 73mm bb - using a xtr bb - so 1 spacer on the drive side correct? (and none on the none drive side arm?)

It appears that the LH crank is not sliding snugly onto the bb spindle as there is a 2mm or so gap betweem the tension adjustment doodah = slight play - and when I remove the silver crankbolt the splines seem to stand out a bit proud of the spindle interface - is this the issue or does it need another bb spacer? - I feel the splines standing out is the prob but its a hugely expensive (even 2nd hand) chainset i dont want to screw it up... watched vids on web and it would appear the LH arm should be snug against the bb to allow preload...

cheers in advance

paul

check you have the right torque it is quite high iirc
the doodah adjusts and turns inward to fit the BB

Yup you really need to crank it down. As long as the splines are clean there's no problem.
