    Hi,
I’m currently looking at getting a new hardtail. I want to be able to use it for a bit of everything. Most of my riding is on rocky surfaces like trail centres but also includes some softer muddy and natural trails. I also want to be able to use the bike for the local dirt jumps. My main concern is the ability to take rougher steeper trails at speed and stability.

I am currently looking at the Whyte 901 and the orbea Laufey, one is a 29er and one 27.5plus, the orbea seems to have a slightly better spec. If anyone has any advice on the two bikes or just 27.5plus and 29 for the uses mentioned I would be grateful.

    Thanks

I have the Laufey, it’s a really nice bike. Came to it from an old 26″, so nothing modern to compare it to but I find it rolls (and bounces) over pretty much whatever I need it to. Very stable and confidence inspiring. I don’t think it’s the lightest but it’s well put together.
