    As per title really…

I have some spare roadie spds, would these be OK for the time being for a mixture of roads and bridleways?

Time Atak. Road pedals will be fine as long as you don’t need to get off and walk offroad.

m530 ‘Trail’ spd. Makes it easier to remount and go, also for riding to the shops. Mine gets used for everything tho.

Whatever you have for your Mtb will be fine. You most probably will need to walk at so e point. I use some eggbeaters.

I use flats on everything else (with toe straps on the fixie), and Candy’s on the CX.

I use roadie pedals as I use mine as a road bike with the occasional Mtb trail as well. I don’t stop/get off and mince or race cross so roadie pedals are great. I can’t stand the rattly feel of Mtb pedals on the road. I was worried about the plastic cleats breaking when used off road (I ride most of the N Downs trails on it) but I’ve been using them for a year no probs.

As already mentioned above, only real disadvantage with standard SPDs is if you ever need to get off and push! Given that you’re only looking at bridleways that is fairly unlikely so I would have thought what you’ve got is fine. If however you’re looking to do more gnarly/hilly territory and/or you’re looking at touring and anticipating spending time off the bike, you may wish to think about swapping them out.

XT here as well. South Downs chalk would be deadly in road shoes.
