[Closed] what pedals and shoes?

I've been using clipless pedals off-road since before Shimano made off-road clipless pedals!

Thought I'd see what the other side is like as I want to work on my jumps and drops a little.

So, with my birthday coming up soon, what mid range pedals and shoes should I consider?

Are the Shimano DX worth considering?

Never needed any more than DMR V8/12's, although if youve got big flippers, something with a bigger platform like Atomlab GI's or Gusset SlimJims may suit more. Decent pedals mean any sticky-ish shoes will do. I run 5-10's and Adidas Berms, but the 5-10's are too sticky for some.

I found the V8/12's a little too small a platform so am now using Azonic A-frames which are excellent (if a bit heavy), I use some skate shoes I got from sports world for a tenner too! I would like to try some 5-10's just to see what the hype is about but I don't have any issues with cheap skate shoes!

so what makes for a good flat pedal? Are more pins better?

IMO a nice sized platform with plenty of replaceable pins in sensible places. Also easily replace-able pins and easily service-able body

5 10s plus pedals, V8s can be a bit thick if low botton bracket (reckon shin guards for a while are worth it) - use slim jims now but not as grippy as V8s but helps reposition feet easier on faster runs and for jumps
