[Closed] What is the difference between cheap and expensive fork oil?
Ok so I am going to try and service my 888's. I have done domains before but I used some juice lubes fork oil. for the 888's I'm going to need a litre bottle, which in juice lubes will cost me around £20.

Or I could just use some motorcycle oil which would be a lot cheaper for a litre http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_221375_langId_-1_categoryId_165507
Should I cheap out or Is it the same stuff?
Cheers
Bout £30/litre?
.
My coat please.
Mountainbike specific packaging.
How old are the 888's I was using mid spec m'cycle stuff in my old ones, couldn't really tell any difference
They are 2012 Marzocchi 888 rcv
Motorcycle oil.
Motul, silkolene designed to cope with just as much abuse as MTB fork oil.
Probably made in the same factory and using posh packaging
Absolutely no difference. Furthermore, the oil weights on the bottles bear little resemblance to the actual weights. There's a comparison chart somewhere on t'internet which shows the actual weights for most of the fork oil brands. Silkolene's a good one, BTW.
You want maxima from dirtbikebitz the racing one. 11 a litre. Very close sae to the stock zocchi
