  • What Drill bit for an Ibis Mojo?

My Mojo has a lot of water sloshing round in the frame. I’ve tried rotating it every which way round to try to get it out of one of the holes, but no luck.

    Can someone either tell me

That drilling a wee hole in it with the Bosch will be fine.
    OR
Tell me which of the ‘welds’ has a through route for water to come out of and which hasn’t.

I tried to route the wetness out through that weird Ibis down tube to top tube link but clearly there is not actually a link between the two.

Have you tried removing the bb?

not tried removing the BB. I had hoped there might be an easier way. The water got in there somewhere so it ought to come out.
Feels like some fiendish Chinese puzzle as I lift it up and rotate it round trying to move the sloshing to an open end.

Unscrewing the BB has to be an easier solution than drilling the frame

A 12mm masonry bit and an SDS drill on the hammer setting should just about do it.

Probably some kind of lip that you can’t quite get the water over.

Could try putting a bit of plastic tubing down to the lowest point and connecting a syringe and seeing if you can suck any water out.

Have you tried heating it up to evaporate the water?

Put it in the bath and wash all the water out.

Ducks float on water ergo they must be lighter than it. Loosen the BB then inject duck pate inside the frame from the top down, forcing the water out of the bottom.

Get that african feller off top gear to shoot it for you.

Oxy Acetylene torch with a number 10 tip. Heat up the tubes until the water evaporates. Job done.

Stick a long tube through one of the existing holes, and get sucking. Nothing slakes your thirst quite like the heady cocktail of grease, dung and rainwater.

I take it you can’t just take the seat post out and pour it out there?

Sorry, I mean, pour drain cleaner in the seat tube, it’ll foam up and silence the swishing.

Inspired by honeybadgerx idea what about using Duck tape? Unscrew the bb and the water will stick to the tape, no?

    When you have done draining:

Wrap a kids nappy round the bottom bracket and leave it be for a while, it may be embarrassed to go in front of you.
