Got me a set of Shimano LX disc brakes and was wondering how much weight I'd save if I switched to Formula Oro K24. Looking on Weightweenies (well out of date) it looks like I might get about 80 to 100 grams per end. Does that sound right? Half a pound would be nice.

k24s weight about 360-390g. It depends on size of rotors. the weight used to be posted up on the formula website.

If you really want to save weight, either Formula R1 or Hope Race - full set at sub 600g.

Cheap upgrade - try Ashima rotors, work with anything and very light (83g/160mm or 113g/185mm).

Formula rotors are also very light for their size, but not as light as those ashimas.

Wondered how long it would be before someone trotted out that particular classic.
