Two mates and myself trying out Swinley for the first time, should be fun!

    This was last weekend:

Really need to remember to clean the lens after storing the phone in a sweaty back pocket.

Next weekend is 10 days in the Lakes with vast amounts of family. Hopefully I’ll get a day pass, toying with Skiddaw/Ullock & Helvellyn/Sticks in one go. Other plan is to ride a lap or two of Whinlatter with jr_bandito#1

Well it’s not the weekend but I’m on hols so every days the weekend! Qecp yesterday for the first time in over 15 years (see my gushing post in qecp thread) and then round a wood near my folks I hadn’t ridden for a similar amount of time. So good. When I was a teenager it was mostly double track and wide paths like this:

But in the intervening decades lots more single track has appeared, some of it really good. Classic, south east, heathy woodlandy, xc racy style single track, so much fun when ridden fast:

    And the beer, bikebuoys favourite:

My weekend finally arrived yesterday so I managed a few miles on the newly acquired fat bike. Still playing around with tyre pressures but it’s definitely fun.

where’s everyone riding in their glorious 4 days off granted by the lord himself?
I was out yesterday at Cannock and will probably go out local on Monday and that’s it for me. My mrs is due no2 in early may so my rides will have to lessen in number very soon. 🙁

Still great here. Storm is coming so we sneaked out this morning. Perfect conditions. Even if I did save a front end slide by jamming a pedal into my shin. Better than crashing tho…. blue skies… not seen enough of those this year.

Wind was strong (and cold) enough to discourage me from going too high, so instead I stuck to the forest and tried to check out some new route options. Could have done with the fatbike I was testing out last week really.

    Project 417 yesterday.
Lucky enough to get a nice bit of sunshine in the morning followed by a lovely rain storm to cool us off in the afternoon.

It’s a nice little place and although the tracks need work and we left feeling a little underwhelmed by how the tracks rode, it has plenty of potential.

We rode from the first uplift to the last so had plenty of fun there. Will definitely be going back.

I love where we live. Inches of rain last night, trails still pretty dry in the ‘Glacial Sponge’ Malverns

@h4muf… Where is that? There are some sandstone caves near where I grew up (bewdley) and looking at your photo stream, I see a river and a steam train, but it doesn’t look right. It has been 25 years since I have been back though.

Well I generally enjoyed my weekend

Had a solo ride in the Peak on Friday in glorious weather, went to the Chase early doors on Saturday with the wife and a shortish local road ride on Sunday & Monday.

Had a great Easter weekend (well sat, Sun and Mon) tearing around the lovely dry and dusty Chiang Mai trails. Sadly no real art pics…

four days off but i only managed a local saturday morning spin with the dog. I was itching to get out after following the updates from EWS Chile, but slogging it over moorland bogs in 30mph winds didnt really live up to it….

I had a great local ride out last night with my mate, in the dark. Started in the light at 7.30 for the first time since Sept/Oct so it’s all good. The trails were trashed after several days of hard rain, rather annoying just as they were drying out.

Friday early morning road ride around Dartmoor

Saturday WDMBC 3rd Cat Circuit Race at Hillingdon. Attacked a bit, missed the break, chased a fair bit and was generally worn out by the end (see above). Windy.

Monday first off-road ride for almost a year around Swinley. The wrist and shoulder held up fine, but the hail and rain made for an interesting ride.

A very mixed weather road ride for me, suffered a hail storm (sore face!) then bright sunshine, then more rain and finally dried out a bit. A good ride, 40 miles or so and I dried out in the end…
