For printing maps, does it work? Something like Memory Map Tough Print.

Or am best finding some skinny laminating pouches? Needs to be fairly apocalypse proof.

The paper is brilliant, much better than laminating.

Is your ink waterproof? Professionally printed waterproof maps can be great, but even with some of those I’ve experienced print rubbing off. For personal use either, then either use a laminator, clear sticky backed plastic or sealed plastic bags – have used all of those with success in very wet conditions, including kayaking.

I think that’s one also far.

It’s just a bog standard inkjet printer.

Ive always found laminated maps a bit if a pain as they are too stiff to fold. My preference is to cover with that sticky-backed plastic film sold in rolls. I’ve loads of full OS maps that have survived repeated abuse. Might be a bit of a pain if you are making loads of copies for an event or something though.

It’s for personal use, you got a link to that film?

Maybe the nuclear option is to buy tough paper then cover it in film.

    This sort of stuff.

other retailers/outlets/brands are available (inc WH Smiths)

Exactly what I was describing as “clear sticky backed plastic”. Often referred to as “soft laminating”

Never had a problem in using ordinary A4 map printouts and using one of these drybags.

I’m really after the most compact waterproof option I can get.

I’ll give that film stuff a bash.
