My pads usually just go in the washing machine on synthetic setting, but my Brand X armour “jacket” says dry clean only.

Now I don’t have the time or inclination to get it dry cleaned before I leave for the Alps, so I wondered what others do to wash them.

Have hosed it down in garden, but will that get rid of the dried sweat? It was pretty pongy after a few hours at Aston Hill yesterday eve.

I just wash my Dainese in the washing machine but put it in a pillow case to avoid the backplate welding itself to the washing machine door during the spin cycle as happened to a friend. Should be fine really.

Another option is to handwash it in the bath.

Cheers guys, might give it a scrub with some soapy water and hose it off again – then let it dry in the sun.

Got no Febreeze, but could dry it off with a Bounce sheet.

I use ‘Mingaway’ – it is a wetsuit cleaner/antibacterial/freshner stuff. Just put a capful in the bath, 1/2 fill with water, drop in your pads and leave to soak for a couple of hours. Works really well. Get it from any good wetsuit retailer.
