I got a single Ratbite for the rear of my aggressive HT – mainly because everyone had differing opinions of what was best and they were cheap.

I tore a knob open this morning (never buying Aggressors again – that’s the second one), lost all air, tried a couple of plugs with no joy, so rolled in on the fire roads at speeds of up to 40kmph without wrecking the rim (i Hope, yes that’s a pun).

I suspect the Ratbite saved me from a lot worse damage.

I bought one of these backer rod as an experiment. I made a jig and made it into two half moon lengths and joined then with a zip tie. Two plus years on and I am still using them. I have change tyres twice you can see where am impact would have damaged the rim.
I run my tyre pressures around 22psi and sometimes allow them to go as low as 18psi and have had zero problems.
