I have received one of these as a gift (sort of), and although my old Alien mk1 is a bit battered and used, I'm not sure if I need a new trail tool. What are your experiences of the new Alien 3, any faults, worth keeping or should I stick it over on the classifieds.

It's heavier than the original for starters, and a mate broke his chain tool on a ride, although I'm not sure if that was a mk2 or 3.

I use one, ok, but the closeness of the tools can be a pain, but to be fair I've always got the job done

(I carry alien3, leatherman copy with pliers, screw drivers etc, park chain tool – as my experience is that on cheaper chain tools the pin bends etc and park do replacements)
