Anyone having problems with hotmail and Thunderbird?
At the weekend Tbird decided that it would receive emails but not respond and today it flashed a message saying it couldn't connect and now won't receive!!! I know I haven't changed any settings, so it must be something else...

more likely to be hotmail. T'bird is fine for me here, but I don't connect it to MSHotmail.
OTOH, hotmail is fine for me too. Anything else changed on your system?
AFAIK, nothing.
Just played with setting and rather than the suggested setting from Avast, which now I come to think about it the problems started after the latest version of Avast downloaded.
Off to see if I can find anything there. 😕

Just been through Avast and had a look at their forum. Unchecking the 'scan outbound mail box' in the mail shield seems to have done the trick. Computer genius me! 😆

i use hotmail in thunderbird, and i've had a few issues. i had to go to tools>account settings and just make sure everything seemed right. i too had not made changes, it stopped working for no discernable reason...
