Evening all. Decided to go for a weeks camping in north Norfolk this year. Looking for any recommendations for things to do. Two of us plus our 4 year old. We will have our bikes. What better place to ask. Cheers.

Few RSPB reserves either on or close to the coast in that area. Crabbing, ice cream.

We were around there last week, some lovely places between Cromer (bit MEH) & Hunstanton. There's an activity centre of some sort at Brancaster Staithe, there was loads of kids mucking about in kayaks with a couple of instructors & it looked safe as houses. Dunno if you can just turn up & have a go though. There's a lady with a stall there too selling seafood & stuff, crab sarnies were very good & value for money! Wells is proper nice too.
(We were on a recce to see if we could do a week around there with a caravan & I reckon we could!)

Norwich Castle Museum was always a treat when i was a kid, not sure what it is like now.
Norwich Cathedral has a game to find a list of animals in the stonework - might not be fun for a 4yo.

Europe's biggest beer shop is between Kings Lynn and Downham Market.

Wells and Holkham for big beaches, watch the tide though if you walk out onto the sand bars.

For food, our favourites are The Dun Cow and Cookies Crab Shop both at Salthouse.
Best fish and chip shop is the one at the mini roundabout at Roughton.

Blickling Hall and Estate, Sheringham Park, Sandringham for nice walks inland.

You could book a day canoeing down some of the smaller unnavigable rivers with The Canoeman in Wroxham. Don't bother canoeing the navigable bits, they're big, wide and busy with boats and a bit of a chore. Aylsham to Coltishall is my favourite.

Thanks everyone. Think that's at least 2 days sorted now between bewilderwood and getting a boat from Martham boats. I'm trying to persuade her that we need to visit Europes biggest beer shop. It's only a few weeks till we go and all we had planned was a Cromer crab sandwich!

Hilltop Adventure Centre is great fun, but could be a bit much for a 4 year old. You'd love it tho!

Also, if it is lagging it down, the inflatables session at the pool in Great Yarmouth is great fun, but turn up early as it sells out.

Blickling Hall is well worth a visit. NT but don't let that put you off.

If you visit Blickling hall (which is defiantly worth doing) then the Buckinghamshire arms which is just next door is great for a meal.

If your visiting beers of Europe in setch, pop along to shouldham, you have the warren to explore, and then a top meal and ales and gin in the kings arms. The community owned pub.

Don't forget to tune into North Norfolk radio whilst you're there...

With a four year old.

North Norfolk railway
Amazonia (zoo)
Lifeboat station at Cromer
Boat trip out to the seal island
Bewilderwoood is fantastic, just check they're not filming a movie there or you will have a wasted trip and you won't even spot any celebrities. 😉

If you are going South via the A12 at the end of the week there is also Africa Alive (linked to Amazonia).

More love here for Bewilderwood. Beach at Sea Palling is nice. Horsey Pump.

This place is a bit weird/different but vivid and likely enjoyable for kids and shed tinkerers

There's quite a lot of events organised in West Norfolk in the Summer months. Check http://www.visitwestnorfolk.com/ for details.

If you go into King's Lynn, there's usually something King on every weekend. We had water ski championships last weekend (right past the bottom of my garden) and a free music festival thing the two weekends before that - and then free fireworks display before that.

Rachel (somewhere in Greece so missing it all anyway)

Bewilderwood +++++ but get there early to enjoy the arrival experience for the first time.

Muckleborough Collection for WW2 planes and tanks.

Visit to corner pier for no reason other than it is nice.

Blakney for crab fishing and seal trip.

There's a small amount of fun riding to be had at Sheringham woods. A group of us often head up that was on weekends. It's just a muck about on a small dual track and a few jumps/drops - nothing crazy. There's a slightly longer trail ride up past the cliffs too if you're so inclined.

Make sure to visit Cromer for the fish and chips.

Dinosaur park is in my opinion massively over priced for what it is.

Avoid driving as far down as Yarmouth!

Fat Birds in Hunstanton to look at lots of lovely titanium loveliness.

I wandered in when we were there on holiday a couple of years ago. Insisted I was only tyre kicking and browsing. They insisted on setting up a £3k Lynskey road bike for me to take for a pootle round the town. Without taking any ID or credit card details.

I did buy some winter boots in the sale as a thank you....
