    Did a 1 hour race in thick mud on my old hack with v-brakes. Brake pads damn near ate my wheels!
    Give thanks for disc brakes. (And Merlin for £100 pair of wheels)

    I did a wet race a couple of years ago that destroyed my (disc) pads, rotors, and 2 pistons, had to have 2 full caliper rebuilds and bleeds.

    Discs aren’t always better!

    Better to destroy discs and brakes, than rims.
