Came home tonight to find this up and down the road where I live.

Anyone recognise the style of markings? There's that little yardarm thing outside each property.

That can only be an improvement.

I would guess fiber optic or some form of telecommunications upgrade/installation.

I say this as looks like there is what looks like telecommunications entry just up the path

Hobo markings, 2 women have buried 4 bodies in the direction of the photographer. Marking by the upstand is the distance in yards but I don't recall the code!

I'd be more bothered about the car parked on the pavement .

Red markings are usually electricity . So some changes/ works are planned and they have set out where the cables are etc for the road workers/ contractors

I was guessing Virgin Media, I know they're on a big expansion push at the moment (and, y'know, red).

Red markings are usually electricity .

A mate's just said this (and comms is green apparently). That's less exciting, ho hum.

I've started doing it after steadfastly avoiding doing it for a couple of decades, after someone drove down the road and took the side of my car off. (That's not my car though.)

Weve got blue and red markings, think they indicate all the bits that need filling in as they are all around sunken manholes and cracked up tarmac. So nowt as exciting as water or elektricery for us, just new floor.

They recently went along the roads near us circling and numbering all of the potholes (I assume in preparation for filling, but it might just be the hole equivalent of train spotting).
On one back lane I cycle down a lot it gets up to 226.
