Fitted before and had no problem.
This time was in a rush – I know, not the best approach – and managed to mess up the fitting of the rimtube. Now I think I have stretched this too much and it won’t fit the wheel ie there is too much excess tube.
Is my only solution to throw away the tube, buy a new one and start again?

Sorry, I have nothing useful to say. But I’m about to do a Stan’s conversion for the first time myself this week so I’ll try not to make the same mistake.

Stans have their own forum that’s pretty helpful, give that a try. I’ve never know rim strips to stretch excessively though. if it’s a tight fit in the rim well, could it just be caugth up further round?

    thanks for the replies
its not a tight fit, more that the rimtube has stretched past the point of all being able to fit the rim

washing up liquid on the insid eof the rimstrip might help it contract? ie- less friction?

Or maybe leave it in a jug of cold/soapy water for a few hours before you fit it

Quick question, I have a Stans kit for a MTB, can I fit it to my roadie ?? Bored with all these punctures at the moment.

    Thanks all
