A ww2 pilot gave me these pix of the Rolls royce spit flying around the Wye Valley. One was framed years ago and now finally especially with Battle of Britain anniversary. I got my act together and framed today.

As a bonus all the woodland below is some of the local trails I ride 🙂

Sorry about the relection. Should of took the pic before the glass went in.

Here is a website about the pilot who gave them to me. Some great stories there.

A MkXIV if I’m not mistaken? Beautiful, I’ve never heard a Griffon Spitfire in the metal…

Should of done it years ago. Better than rolled up in a tube. The cropping was the hardest bit. Only had one go.

Now they are on the wall where they belong.

Unfortunately the pilot in the spitfire above died in a crash at an air-show.

Good news. It’s being restored at Filton. Shame about the pilot…sad 🙁

My favourite Spitfire, the Griffon engined version with the five-bladed prop. Lovely photos, glad they’re being displayed at last. Nicely done.

I was lucky enough to spend 9 months of my apprenticeship re-building this

Ps915 now is part of the BBMF and the griffin sounds fantastic.

I was lucky enough to polish MN-E when I was an apprentice at RR Hucknall. It was hangered up at East Midlands Airport and when the maintenance guys went up to service her us boys got to go along.
Happy days but a tragic loss.
