    What no Psycho Killer?

I’m reading ‘Perfecting Sound Forever’ and in the section on production and producers, apparently the producer of Talking Heads ‘77’ wasn’t at all happy with the way Tina Weymouth played bass, so without telling the band he got outside players in, had them play the bass lines on four tracks, and because of the limited number of tracks available on the master tape, and the fact there was only one available for David Byrne to do his vocal on, mixed the new bass tracks in, deleting Tina’s bass, leaving the one empty track for the vocals. Didn’t say which four tracks those were, though, and sadly they can never be retrieved.

Only just seen this thread, and can’t be going through all 5 pages so apologies if it’s been mentioned already.

And this one must have already shown up but it’s worth repeating.

@slowoldman – thanks for the Emmylou track, I’ve seen her a number of times, including on the Wrecking Ball tour, and with Spyboy, and I’ve seen Daniel Lanois touring ‘Acadia’, so I’ve seen that song performed by both of them, great bass playing, a great singer, and a terrific tune!

Severe lack of motorik bass-heavy shizz on this thread (except for Hawkwind, noice!) Moar bass! Moar motorik!

Apols if it’s been posted already, but I’ve been away for a few pages. Anyway, posted this on the Goth thread and there is overlap. Edit: and double the bass!

Its not really an intro in the sense that the song is way to simple to have such frivolity but this played very very loud is a belter if a song.

Bomb track, Little Green Bag and Get the Funk Out (guilty pleasure, memories of youth) all came to mind.

Don’t think I’ve seen anybody post this. Not sure I’m bothered if it’s too obvious… 😉

Seven Nation Army. Too hungover to get the link to embed.
