yes.  Singletrack puts loads of temp files and cookies on my computer - enough that at points I have to delete the lot or the 'puter slows / hangs

STW is fine for me.

I cleared out a lot of sites the other day, couple of just normal websites I use infrequently had over 1GB. Argos was on top with 1.3GB.

Regularly asked for 2 to 4GB of storage on first approach here. Tech have had an email, clearing cookies didn't seem to help.

Not something I’ve ever seen, I do get the log-in permission thing, but that’s quickly sorted, unlike Brave, which is completely bolloxed.

I've never had the messages but any time I've checked STW has dumped 600Mb+ of unknown shite on my phone. Argos is pretty bad too but STW usually leads the pack.

Just popped up on mine for the first time. There’s 1GB on my phone apparently, the next closest is Google using a whole 44MB.

How else would anyone log-in

How else would anyone constantly have to log back in, even when just moving on the sofa, you need to log on again. FTFY

It’s been a right pita the last few days, combined with the usual hanging up / slow speed.

Yeah, what's going on with Argos? I think I might have been on it once and it seems to have downloaded the whole catalogue 😁

I have 899 Mb of STW stuff on the phone but, as the phone still has about 50% of storage unused, have never seen a message about it, nor have I any issues about it.

1.6gb now…

I didn’t really know or care until it started sending me messages about it.

Just thought it seemed a little excessive.

Have you tried deleting it all and starting from scratch. I reckon I'll try that to see how quickly it ramps up. I can't see where 0.5Gb of extra data comes from in less than 24 hours though. Have you been reading the mag, or any of the larger articles in that time?

Am I doing this wrong?

Total data for all sites on my phone is is just over 800MB - that MBs not GBs - STW is less than 9mb. Biggest is google at a staggering 124MB (Argos is zero, although I've not visited for a while)

This is using safari and I've not knowingly monkeyed about with any settings

@maccruiskeen - maybe Chrome and Safari are reporting data in different ways?

Hmmm. Mine has dropped to 818 Mb since I last looked and that's without clearing it down.

And down to 134 Mb immediately after clearing it all and logging in afresh.

Phone is using 90GB out of a total of 256gb so safari is totally at liberty to keep filling up if it wants . I've got half a gig in the app's 'reading list' - i.e. there's an option to either bookmark a page or save the page to read off line. Out of habit I do the latter and never delete any of them.

Is that something thats happening is Chrome? data being saved so pages are available if you go offline?

A whole 78 Mbytes for Safari on my iPhone, seems like nothing...
