woody2000, I knew instantly where these were! A superb one day walk - the worlds greatest so they say. I have many almost identical pics from last year (snowy) and '95, red hot! Did you make it to summit of Ngnarohoe (the big Conical one to the righ -out of shot) (Spelling?), that I would like to do!Happy days...
scruzer - we were a bit pushed for time unfortunately, so we just did the straight walk with no side trips. Will definitely go back tho!
Snaps, Is that the Eiger?
Matterhorn?
Yep - Matterhorn above Zermatt Oct last year.

a little higher up than the rest. a view of the crater rim at the summit of kili at 6am. you cant really see it in this picture but you could see the curvature of the earth looking across the tops of the clouds. amazing!
EDIT- goan yours is the winner so far, really impressive. im planning on climbing mera or island peak at some point in the near future cant wait.

I did the full circuit. Stunning. It's supposed to be about a week's trek, but it's not quite that long.
Situated at the bottom of the Andes in S America, the highest pass is only 5000ft, but the walking circuit is quite magnificent& not at all difficult to trek. You walk around the edge of the massif.
Up close, Cerro Torro is awesome.

Ton - that looks like Schiehallion from Loch Rannoch. Some fantastic photos in this thread. Nice to see Snowdon and Crib Goch - always been a special mountain to me.
somewhere in Austria, near Bludenz, i think...
Plansee, Germany
Verwalltal, Austria. near St. Anton
the view from my window last year. Lindau, Germany.
a private lodge belonging to a friend of a friend. awesome place to stay and party. sleeps 40 people comfortably (if you excuse the mice). trails from the door and you can jump off the balcony into the water after a ride/when you're drunk. near Ruette, Austria.
Surrounded: I think your first shot is Tawoche?
Deserter: I think your second shot is Castle Mountain?
Great thread BTW
goan you are one extreme chap.
total toss most of the time with the odd thread of genius. 😀
Buzz - it's not Tawoche - we went up that.
Nonk - my life is interesting. I like it a lot. I blame my wife - she's the mentalist in the family.
Buzz - I'm assured it's Thamserku.
damn double post 😡
kevonakona - is that looking at the Eildons, in the Borders?
bruk, where are yours from? Norway?
Jimmy, looks like you had a much better weekend than me!
Ol Doinyo Lengai in Northern Tanzania - one of the coldest volcanoes in the world
The crater at the summit taken a day after an eruption and a few days before it blew again:
Walking across the floor of the crater in the semi-darkness, crunching on the crust as we went is an experience I'll not forget anytime soon...
Enough of ze snow, ja?
How about one of the most iconic faces of South Africa, Table Mountain.
My son is on holiday in SA at the moment and he is climbing up the front side of Table Mountain today. He is only 9,hope he will be fine. He is with my cousin who is a professional climber, so I'm not worried, more jealous!
"Buzz - I'm assured it's Thamserku. "
That sounds right. How was the ascent of Tawoche then?
Also Tryfan, this time from higher...

Buzz - Painful, very ****ing painful. Dangerous and pretty ****ing scary at times.
Ned sorry forgot to label them.
1st one is Cal Mor in west Highlands.
2nd is Milford Sound in NZ
3rd is Flute bowl in Whistler.
Here are my two.
The first was taken at first light. We were already at 2000m so you are just seeing the last 1718m of Mt Teide.
Then the view from the top along the ridge of the Anaga and Mercedes mountains.
Just a shame we can't take bikes right to the top 🙁
Love the Snowdon NYD pics and zokes your third pic is a stunner 😯
Cheers grumm - amazing what a polarizing filter can do! Was certainly worth lugging the camera about that day!
Woody, nice one, it looked a bit like that the next day but I only have a few on the laptop. Fantastic place but horrible weather. I honestly thought our camper was going to blow over.
2hottie, I am so jealous of that Lake Matherson photo, camped o/n nearby and goy up real early to try and get some nice shots but the wind was up and the clouds in 🙁 Next time.
More Scotland, Somewhere in Cairngorm (forgotten exactly where!)
