A 2010 Santa Cruz Heckler. This was a year or two ago – it now has lost the bash guard and gained a dropper post.

My new project. It’s a ’94 Kona Fire Mountain, impulse-bought as a very belated replacement for the ’96 Fire Mountain I had stolen a few years back, having owned it from new. Whilst that one had been heavily modded with discs and Fox forks etc, this is going to be a classic resto job. The frame, fork and stem will be going to Argos Cycles for a refurb in the original colours, then it will be built up with an early 90s XT groupset that I’ve been slowly accumulating over the last few years, along with period-correct finishing kit. The basic idea is to end up with the kind of thing the teenage me would have wanted but could never hope to afford at the time.

My 2003 Speccy Hardrock,I built it up for learning wheelies & messing about,all that’s original is the frame & front mech..

I bought this 2013 Anthem last year,new from Pauls.It’s got one of those new fangled tapered headtubes,rode it at the Glentress7 & NaturalTweed

If I get another mountain bike,it’ll be a steel hardtail frame to replace the old Hardrock,either a Cotic Soul or Kinesis Decade Virsa.I’ve to much 26′ stuff to write it all off!

The fact that you have a choice as to which bike you ride will probably only exacerbate it, so go with whichever suits you on the day. 😉

My two carbon 26’ers. The blur with some mods is the best bike I’ve owned/ridden.

2010 Zesty. I’ve since fitted some offset bushings and carbon bars but pretty much everything else is the same.
