I've had a cotic frame sprayed before by local motorcycle repair shop but I've got a bit of time off this summer and was thinking of having a go myself on my Van Nicholas frame as I love the look of BAUM Ti and Saffron 953 frames that are part painted.

Inspiration and useful tips are required though so please show me any of your own custom paint jobs whether they're by a professional or DIY.

Cheers

I found the whole thing a bit overwhelming when faced with a totally blank canvas! IMO it's pretty easy to make something look really shit, so went with something very straight forward. Even choosing the pantone colour for the green was a bloody nightmare. Happy with the result though. Apologies for the saddle position, headset spacers and rear brake cable outer!

I like that Njee. A simple two tone was what I was thinking of (with one of those being raw titanium).

Are those chinese carbon wheels? I'm tempted to go for some but not sure where from?

Yep, Chinese carbon frame (Deng Fu FM208) and Chinese carbon wheels (FarSports 38mm deep, 23mm wide clinchers).

Highly recommend the rims, I built them onto Tune hubs, they're light (1320g), fast and the braking is superb - vastly better than I expected. Not all that stiff, but I can cope with that.

In fact the whole bike has vastly exceeded my expectations!

I'm guessing this will be a bit of a marmite bike for some, but stunning work - one of my mates bike. His brother does bikes/helmets etc for a living if anyone is interested. Only low res pics, as from FB

Whether you like it or not you have to admire the skill. I personally wouldn't choose to paint a bike like that but it looks like he's done an awesome job.

Not mine, but Saffron Frameworks (and whomever does their paintwork) are stunning...literally jaw dropping.
